The miniblog is taking a bit of a hit today as I can’t be bothered thinking about things long enough to post about them.

Blue-jacking is fun, especially in an office. Although I’m a bit disappointed at the lack of devices I can ‘jack’.

I need to get my passport photo taken or I won’t have a passport for when we go to Spain in January.

I need to buy a new shirt for the wedding in November.

Tonight I’ll be ripping a Star Wars DVD to watch on my phone (Why? Because I can!)

Someone has been writing random pairs of words on the white boards at work; alarmingly debonair, dangerously coital, impressively boned, disappointingly premature, biblically smooth, beefy rhythms, instinctively moist, lyrically suave, reactively damp, chunky beets. (Hello Google!)

So, who’s got a summer holiday booked? We’ll probably make it out to the in-laws in the south of Spain but I don’t see the budget stretching much further to be honest.

Anyway, for all you lot off to sunnier climes (or colder climes, whatever tickles your fancy) be aware that you can’t just chuck a few photo’s up and say “Weather’s here, wish you were lovely”.

Tha diamond geezer bloke has raised the bar (again). If you haven’t caught his reports from San Francisco then I suggest you grab a coffee and a hot-cross bun and head over there.

It all reminds me of my trip to San Francisco – Pleasanton for the main part but a day in the city was more than enough to plant the bug that is making me itch to return. I think the weather in Pleasanton maybe had something to do with it, but I could be wrong… ahhhh yes, fond memories indeed.

(thanks for that word Lyle)

A quick bit of background: We are with Telewest who also supply my our broadband connection and cable TV package. We’ve been with them since we moved in here, about 2 and a half years ago. I’ve paid every bill by direct debit.

So, Friday afternoon I realise our phone line is dead. I phone customer support and they arrange an engineer for Monday (today) between 11a.m. and 2p.m.
Doorbell goes at 1.02p.m. I’m not surprised by this having had Telewest engineers out 3 times since moving here and they’ve always appeared on time.

Come on in, I say. The engineer says that there isn’t any need as he’s been trying to fix my problem for the last two hours but hasn’t been able to get anywhere.

Confused I ask him what he’s talking about. He explains.

Basically, seemingly (ridiculously) Telewest have ‘lost’ the fact that I have a phone account with them. So they disabled the service. This is despite the fact that on Thursday last week, the monthly bill came through, and I checked it to see how many international calls we’ve made (to Spain to Louise’s Mum and Dad) to see if the International calling package I’d had added to our account the previous month was saving us money (which it is).

GRRRRRR – surely there is some step in their procedure that states: if the person has been paying for a phone line, and has made calls USING the phone line then they are entitled to have the phone line. I mean it’s not like I was trying to cheat them but using a phone service I hadn’t paid for…

So they are going to phone me (!) to clarify the issue. I’m not sure if they will contact me on my mobile (which should be fun as the reception in the house is lousy) or if they will re-enable the phone line to do so, either way the matter of three days of lost service will be discussed!

Tomorrow: Head to Loch Lomond for a ‘wee jaunt’ on my friends boat. Then back to his house for a BBQ. Hangover expected on…

Sunday: drive to Edinburgh airport to pickup sister-in-law and two of her kids. She’s leaving the other two in Spain (with her parents). Then dinner at brother-in-laws (possibly).

And still got shelves and towel rail to put up in the bathroom…. hmmm

Also need to get Car Tax, hire a 70s outfit for a party a week on Saturday, and finish rebuilding my old PC for my nephew.

It’s no wonder I’m knackered come Monday morning (ohh yes and another BBQ on Monday night too for a friend’s birthday.. ).

Some pics will ensue (and possibly a quick posting from the middle of Loch Lomond if my phone gets a signal out there).

Phew. What are you up to?
