Ethics

Heart wrenching, or just ethically wrong? The story of the family who want to screen embryos to make sure their baby will be able to provide a bone marrow transplant to their critically ill son will no doubt divide opinion. However I’m not sure I agree with the tag line that has surrounded this story of wanting to pick a ‘designer baby’. They are not doing this for ‘design’ reasons (hair colour, eye colour etc etc) but to help save the life of their son. Surely that is a worthy cause?
