Monkey mascot elected mayor. OK I know I should follow this link with a serious commentary on the state of local politics, but I’m sorry I can’t. Not sure which is better, his slogan of “free bananas for schoolchildren”, or the fact that Peter Mandelson was seen skulking about in the background as the monkey and his supporters celebrated.
I should point out that at least Mr.Drummond didn’t dress as the monkey for the election results, although that might’ve been even funnier.
