Movies

Forgot to mention that we saw Bruce Almighty at the weekend. I can take or leave Jim Carrey when he is being ‘wacky’ but this wasn’t too bad. He was alright (although hardly a stretch for him I think… Hey Jim, just turn up.. ok?). Jennifer Aniston WASN’T Rachel which was good, and Morgan Freeman was good too, but then he’s never bad…

In saying all that I would recommend it for one 10 minute scene. The one with the newsreader guy trying to read the news. I’ve not laughed that hard in ages.

Anyway I was remind to tell you about that because we just got back from Charlies Angels: Full Throttle. Unrealistic, overly styled and quite simply a vehicle to piece together the action scenes. I LOVED IT! Completely pointless but huge fun, well worth it even just to sit and moan at how far fetched the stunts are (and to look at Demi Moore and think… rarrrrr.. ohh and then there’s Cameron… double-rarrrrr)

Charlies Angels: Full Throttle

Charlies Angels: Full Throttle

I remember seeing the first Charlies Angels featuring Diaz, Liu, and Barrymore but can’t remember much else about it. I fear that this movie will turn out the same, but don’t let that put you off. Offering no pretence that they are bothering to follow more than a whim of a plot, we follow the Angels through action scene after action scene, designer outfit change to designer outfit change, with the pace rightly associated with the directors previous vocation as a music video director. The action scenes are far fetched, the plot line, as I said, barely paid attention to, but who cares. A romp of a movie that never takes itself even slightly seriously, this is huge fun. Ohh and welcome back Demi Moore.

A quandary

You are walking on a bridge over a river. A rope is dangling over the side, with the end trailing on the pathway. You can see that the rope disappears over the edge and down towards the river. You don’t know if it is attached to anything.
