NEW MASSIVE ATTACK TRACK! Which was released on the 16th April, that I missed because Gmail decided to throw it into my spam folder —yet another reason to ditch Gmail as it’s getting worse for stuff like this.
Anyway, one of my favourite bands, in a collaboration with Tom Waits (that voice!), and it’s a stormer!
One question though, in their email announcing the release, they stated the following:
“Boots on the Ground” is the first Massive Attack music distributed under a Spotify exemption policy.
Which, as an Apple Music user of a couple of years now, made me pause. Why would they need an exemption policy for that? Ahhh because they pulled their entire catalogue from Spotify in protest to the Spotify CEO investing in Military AI.
They have always been a political band so this makes sense.
As does allowing this track, which is politically time sensitive, get on the biggest distribution channel out there.
Anyway, bangin’ choon! and I’m away to resubscribe using my own email address instead.
