Let’s start with Scotland beating France in the Six Nations – the best game of rugby I’ve seen since the 1990 game vs England – and just how thrilling a game it was, end to end stuff, if only we’d managed to keep France at bay in the last 10 mins. Still, next weekend should be exciting.
Weight went back up, expected after weekend away but still, the emotional impact always gets me down. Trying NOT to blow it all off. This health focus isn’t JUST about losing weight.
Formula 1 season has started! Gonna be an interesting one with the new rules and new cars. My pre-season predictions are already in; we do a race prediction each week and total them up at the end of the year. Russell/Mercedes to win it all? (My Red Bull fandom ain’t happy about that!). First race was fun at the start but tailed off a bit, hopefully not a sign of the season to come. Lots to learn.
Got confirmation that, after being run off the road, our little old Mini is officially scrapped. Shame.
Lucy by the sea by Elizabeth Strout – another gem of a novel, storytelling that is simple, rich, layered, and lets you escape into the characters so easily. What a writer.
Considered
Text is King – I’ve long believed this, and bemoaned the move to 5 min videos to share information (that would take me 30 secs to read). I understand why that happens but I still believe in text over everything. Of course, eagle eyed readers (all one of you) will have spotted I already linked to this as it inspired my own post on reading.
Society Needs A Doctor’s Prescription For Nature – so true, being outside in nature always makes me feel calmer, more grounded (pun intended), and I think more people should simply get outdoors more often.
Watched
The Muppet Show – ahhhh the nostalgia. Fun 30 mins, just like it should be! Sabrina Carpenter a great choice too, played it well.
Marty Supreme – a rambling character driven movie, great performances all round, hugely enjoyable watch.
Nuremberg – hard to watch (some of the footage is very disturbing) but interesting view of the horrors of war, chilling to view in these current times though.
Bugonia – weird. I love weird. Well worth a watch, a good example of what movies can be beyond another superhero sequel.
Listened
Neil Sedaka – who sadly died. He was a big fav of my late Mum.
Leather Temple by Carpenter Brut – described as sci-fi serial killer music, this is the third album in the trilogy and I just love the bombastic sound. French electro that deserves some volume.
Relaxing Classical music – a backdrop of my childhood (much like Sedaka) I’ve started having some on in the background whilst I work. Soothing.
Health
Gym sessions continuing. Need to step it up to counteract the fact that…
Current Weight 113.3 – I put on the 2 kilos I had lost.
Avg. Sleep: 7hrs 18mins (down 20mins)
Tech
Always got an eye out for better solutions and with both of us now tracking sleep with our Apple Watches, bought this charger that has a flip out watch charger built in, as well as two USB-C and one USB-A charging ports. Now we have a watch charger in the kitchen for an extra before bedtime boost.
I’m also back in the world of WordPress themes (as visitors to the site may have spotted). Toying with designing my own, like it’s 2001 again!
