Month: February 2003

Tis the season…
News Online to get a new look.

My own little redesign continues apace. If I could only get the stylesheet switcher to work in Mozilla, or get everyone using the Internet to agree to use one browser, then I might even be finished this week. Most likely I will post the new look and add the others later.

Ohh don’t get excited, it really is nothing radical. Long gone are the days of a popup window, animated mouseovers and the like…

Equating experiences
This kind of thing is why I like reading personal websites. Those moments when you smile inwardly, or laugh outloud when someone describes one of those little things that you have done so many times and never really given a second thought (and if you had given them a second thought then they wouldn’t have happened). Those thoughts that run through everyone’s head that you never ever talk about:
Black-belt level exercises in Neuroses

Great Google Blogs!
One of the downsides of not really surfing much over the weekend (preferring real life activities like cleaning out the loft… ohh no hang on…) is that I miss the big stories, and this one is pretty darn big: Google Buys Pyra: Blogging Goes Big-Time.

More from the man behind the creation of Blogger.

Ohh and loads more from everyone in the entire ‘blogsphere’ for at least the next, ohhh week or five…

Sport 24 Monday
Well it certainly was a big sporting weekend. But that’s enough about that…

Did you watch it? What do you think? Who is the bad guy? What is the Secretary of State up to? Can we trust George this time around? How hot is Jack’s daughter now… oops.. sorry true colours and all that… Good start to the series though and I resisted the temptation to watch the next episode on BBC Three, although if they keep doing that then of course I will probably succumb at some point.

And so it’s Monday, although having done a couple of hours work at the weekend it doesn’t feel quite so bad. Nah, rubbish. It’s Monday. They’re ALWAYS bad!

Set an alarm
It’s almost here, and I’m getting excited already…
24 – new series.

Right off to watch Scotland thrash Ireland at Murrayfield.

100th Window
Massive Attack’s latest album appears to be, to resort to the vernacular, a ‘grower’ (as Jez suggested). So I will revise my previous opinion, and as Lyle pointed out, it sounds much better when played on a decent system (and not my laptop). I also bow to Stuart’s one-liner “I think it’s about texture, rather than melody” as I missed a lot of the subtler nuances… so, I am happy to say that yes Mike, I love it too!

(Ohhh hark at me with me posh words…)
