R.I.P. Sir Alec
Well we survived the weekend…just.
Not that we had the best start to Monday morning, Sir Alec Guinness is no longer with us. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends. It is a true loss of a great character actor, and from all accounts, a great man. Oh and if you only know him from Star Wars – go and get some of his other films! Bridge over the River Kwai, The Ladykillers, Our Man in Havana and many more. His 6 roles in Kind Hearts and Coronets typefy his approach and mastering of charactering acting.
He will be missed.
Right again
4 kids for the weekend. They are no hassle, but constant work. As my mother-in-law (who I get on with wonderfully as it happens) points out, when we have our own kids it will be different. And as I keep telling her – I know it will!
Next week heralds one year at CADspace. Hhhmmmm, the fanfare is decidely muted and off-key. We’ll see how things pan out, a couple of interesting discussions with some people have made the future… well …decidely optimistic.
“I know you slept well, you are in a good mood”, she said.
I was right about the sleeping patterns then.
New Sister
I have a new sister – my Mum has decided to sponsor a child in Mozambique. It works through a community programme (type of thing) so that the sponsorship(s) are spread around to all the children in the village. She has been wanting to do SomeTHiNG like this for a while. Nice one Mum!
As I mentioned a while back, I am seriously considering what I do at the moment, trying to get a feel if it is what I want. I read often about people just upping sticks and changing career, not sure if I have the courage to do that though… or maybe it’s a reflection of my ‘at work’ mood. We moved up one year ago yesterday, what have I acheived? what have we done since we got here? Lots of questions, as usual.

Although as I didn’t get to sleep until 1 a.m. it might be a bit of a struggle…

Ever get to the stage when you have so much to do, you really don’t know where to start, so you end up starting about 6 or 7 major things and then you start wondering why you think you are getting a little stressed.
I can see why people turn to drink.
