I’ve used this phrase to describe movies before and once again it’s apt, quite simply Mr and Mrs Smith is exactly what you expect. Two of the beautiful people turn up, make a movie, flirt, smile and indulge in some Hollywood style action. This is not a clever movie, it’s not a violent movie, it’s not a comedy, a romance or an action movie. In fact it’s a bit like Romancing the Stone but not as good.

I’m guessing that the lead actors saw the script and saw a simple little movie that wouldn’t stretch their acting skills. Brad Pitt coasts through this barely breaking sweat at any point, relying on his character from Ocean’s Eleven to get by (with a hint of his guest spot on Friends), Angelina Jolie offers a little more depth. we’re taking millimetres here not miles, but at least manages to convince you that she’s acting her part rather than just turning up everyday.

Story wise… well there’s not much to say, if you’ve seen the trailer you know the story.

Is it a bad movie? Well no, it’s not, not at all. There are some nice set pieces, the script ambles along well with some good one-liners strewn about, and the movie doesn’t dwell on anything long enough for you to start to wonder about it. Instead, you sit back, look at the lovely people on the screen and enjoy a couple of hours worth of nonsense.

Bought a shiny new keyboard with lots of bells and whistles on it. So if anything is awry over the next couple of days is because I’ve pushed a button and something has gone wrong!

Survived yesterday. Company kickoff wasn’t too bad, the news wasn’t all doom and gloom and if the company is still going in 3 months then it should be OK. After work went to pub for a ‘few beers’ and promptly ended up getting the last train home. Was a good night, met Becca (Alex’sbird‘). I’m wondering what she made of us all, and whether she could understand half of what we were talking about!

Today has been quiet, parents popped in for lunch, and we’ve just watched Monsters Inc, in lieu of anything decent to watch. What is it about Saturday evening television?
Complete dirge. Probably watch another movie later, maybe tackle the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring. Mind you we are planning to go and see Gangs of New York tomorrow which runs over three hours too, so might try something a little shorter. Ocean’s Eleven anyone?

Ohh and whilst I remember, please join me in my quest to get some pictures of the lovely Pinky in her high heels. Thankuverymuch…

Ok so that’s me all caught up on my ‘daily’ surfing. In other news, I’m still tweaking away at the back end of the site (trying for CSS compliance and failing at the moment). If anyone using Netscape 4 or 5 spots anything funny can you let me know (or fire off a screenshot would do), come on I know you’re out there, you know who you are!

Off to see Ocean’s Eleven tonight, maybe… will see how we both feel. Louise is starting a new job tomorrow so might want to have a relaxing night, or might want to go to cinema to take her mind off it!

Right last call Club Nokia, yes I’m still playing with my new mobile! Boys and toys ehh..

Ohh and while I remember who was looking for “mouse+house+floorboards” and found my site? It’s only one better than “bug bear radiohead” but will never top “wpc porn!”
