The important bit first: Paul, Louise’s brother, is being kept in so they can give him an ultrasonic scan tomorrow to check there is no damage. He was in good spirits, and other than being bored out of his mind, said there was only a dull ache. He’s hoping to get home tomorrow.

Now the movies: We only managed two today as we decided to visit Paul. First up The Incredibles. Well what can I say that hasn’t already been said. The guys and gals at Pixar are at the top of their game with this one, the storyline, pacing, and script are all first rate and the animation.. ohh the animation. There are a couple of scenes where, I’m sorry but this has to be said, they have cheated. Pixar MUST have superimposed some of the water and forest scenes in the movie. There is NO WAY that it is ALL animation. I’m onto you Pixar!!

If you liked Monsters Inc, Toy Story, A Bugs Life and any of their short movies, then go see it. You’ll love it. Wonder when the sequel will be released?

Movie 2 was Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason. I’ll keep this short and sweet. If you’ve seen the first one you’ve seen this one. Nothing new, a continuation from the first. Average. With some funny bits.

And so, the weekend draws to a close. Next weekend I’ll have to stave off efforts by my wife to put up our Christmas tree (yes, really). Any advice is most welcome. And yes I have thought about taking the tree outside and burning it, her response: “Oh goody, I can go and buy a bigger one!”.

I fear I may be fighting a losing battle.

Clickety-click
Bought a shiny new keyboard with lots of bells and whistles on it. So if anything is awry over the next couple of days is because I’ve pushed a button and something has gone wrong!

Survived yesterday. Company kickoff wasn’t too bad, the news wasn’t all doom and gloom and if the company is still going in 3 months then it should be OK. After work went to pub for a ‘few beers’ and promptly ended up getting the last train home. Was a good night, met Becca (Alex’sbird‘). I’m wondering what she made of us all, and whether she could understand half of what we were talking about!

Today has been quiet, parents popped in for lunch, and we’ve just watched Monsters Inc, in lieu of anything decent to watch. What is it about Saturday evening television?
Complete dirge. Probably watch another movie later, maybe tackle the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring. Mind you we are planning to go and see Gangs of New York tomorrow which runs over three hours too, so might try something a little shorter. Ocean’s Eleven anyone?

Ohh and whilst I remember, please join me in my quest to get some pictures of the lovely Pinky in her high heels. Thankuverymuch…

Monsters Inc. was excellent. We caught a ‘making of’ documentary this morning, and Louise remembered that our local cinema was showing previews this weekend. So we caught a mid-day showing and well worth it too! As ever the animation is astounding, but you soon forget about it as the story is equally good. Again Pixar have done the business, and again it is packed with little references and in-jokes.

Watched Pop Idol last night, we seem to be getting caught up in it, Louise especially was getting really wound up when she couldn’t get through to vote. Thankfully Darius is out (at last).
