Tonight, Channel Four, 10.30pm (I think) Channel Five at 10pm. House. As previously mentioned. Worth a watch if you can get past Hugh’s American accent – his wonderfully acerbic character should help.

Road charges. According to the Beeb there seems only to be some “outrage” and on the whole this idea seems to be gaining some momentum. Of course that’ll all change when the government publish proposed figures of how much it will cost a driver, and everyone sits down to do the arithmetic. As the numbers start to add up, it’s how far beyond what we currently pay that will make or break this idea, I think.

G8 Protesters say “We demand the right to march past the gates of Gleneagles on Wednesday 6 July to have our voices heard.”. I say: “Wisen up, never gonna happen. Wouldn’t your efforts be better spent in other ways?”

Today, Big Blogger begins. Who will win, you decide (but if you don’t vote for me… I’ll throw a hissy fit and stamp my foot! Again!).

Just realised that I missed this sites sixth anniversary back on the 2nd of June. Six years since I started writing this nonsense, back in the days when a blog was just a mis-spelling (well it was to me), and homepages were the all rage. Funny thing is how, looking at how my site was back then we don’t seem to have come too far.

Even if you don’t agree with his methods, if you’ve caught any of episodes of Derren Brown’s show Trick of the Mind, you’ll have to admit that he is very talented at what he does. Some of the results are remarkable. If you caught any of his first series you can see he is building on the foundations of the methods he developed back then but it’s one thing having a rough idea of how something is done, quite another to do it.

I’m not a fan of his more grandiose projects, the live Russian roulette was in a little poor taste, and think the series showcases his talents much better. Watching him bemuse a scouser into handing over his watch, wallet, keys and mobile phone, TWICE in quick succession was both hilarious and fascinating. If you are really interested, he reveals some secrets from the last series on his Channel Four website (including how those people in the phone boxes ended up slumped on the floor after a thirty second phonecall).

Tonights show, has him guess what object someone is thinking of as they stare into space, get slapped by Jo Whiley (lucky devil) and the finale is quite creepy, nasty and possibly a little sick, you are warned of this before the segment starts. I’m not going to spoil it for you, suffice to say that I was uttering various swearwords as the reveal slowly took place. “Twisted fucker” being one of the more choice phrases.

So tune in tonight, 9.30pm on Channel Four.

I seen it I did. Right there on the gogglebox. At 7.42am. On Channel Four.

It was for Haze air fresheners (why do they call them that, they do anything but.. they fill your rooms with a cloying sickly sweet perfume that catches in the back of your throat).

Let me clarify it was for CHRISTMAS air fresheners. You too can have the scent of Christmas wafting delicately through your house. In October.

Nutmeg and clove anyone?

So, what do you do if you’ve had a crap weekend? You go out at lunchtime and buy a ticket for the Kings of Leon gig in December. A few of the guys from work are going as well. Monday before Christmas, could be the perfect way to forget all about the presents I have yet to get around to buy.

Ohhh and I bumped into an ex-colleague whilst browsing the sandwich selection in Somerfield (which is woeful). Craig.. er.. dammit, can’t remember, great with faces, awful with names (that’s why I’m so good at spotting celebs in the street, even if I don’t know what they are called). He was the IT guy at Crossaig, had a wee red MG, kept RAM and hard disks in the boot, prompting strange looks when you asked for some hardware. Memories.

Note to self: You lazy bastard, you STILL haven’t completed your tax return, nor have you sent that cheque to Pete. AND you have still to watch Angels in America. You’ve had it for months now. Mind you, you could wait until it appears on Channel Four on the 7th and 8th of October. Now, what are you going to do tonight? Tax Return?? What! Watch Man. Utd vs Liverpool! Or those bloody Star Wars DVDs?! I give up…
