Tales from the booze cupboard

A friend is having a BBQ soon, we’ve got lots of booze left over from Xmas. We did say we would make up a punch. But which one? Hmm what else have we got…

Duh de de de dee de de de, duh de de de dee de de de Tequila!.

“I’d like one that’s fruity and sweet, a little creamy, with plenty of fizz… ohh and one of those little cocktail umbrellas.” Or maybe a night with my favourite ever drink. Southern Comfort (over 2 pieces of ice, or maybe with 7-Up).

And I must remember not to give in to temptation, a couple of Baileys at the end of the night is NOT good.

Disillusioned, pissed off, and thoroughly depressed at the moment. Work is crap. Actually work is fucking awful, cue various “couldn’t organise a piss-up in a brewery” “couldn’t start an orgy in a brothel” type phrases and you’ve pretty much captured my feelings. BUT, yes it is a big BUT, and I feel it should be mentioned… BUT we are having a ‘kick-off’ meeting on Friday. Maybe the master plan will be revealed then. Mind you with the lack of resources, hardware, software etc that we have, it’s a miracle we are managing to release anything at all at the moment! Still we are getting a BBQ and an afternoon of paintballing, so that’s fine then, everything will be great when we get back on Monday.[rant over]

I was just about to go back and edit a mistake in the June 22nd entry. I managed to omit the fact that it was my beautiful and wonderful Louise’s birthday (she probably hates being 21 again by now… surely…). But now I need to be honest, and anyway, she’s already seen that I missed it… dog house again.

Excellent weekend – Friday night – beer, dinner, beer beer beer. Mainly focussed around the beer garden and the first time Louise had met some of my work colleagues. Yes I was slightly apprehensive, but they all behaved themselves, well as much as usual anyway!

Saturday – Glasgow, shopping, lunch, shopping, then round to S & A’s for beer, pizza, chat, beer, chat, beer, chat.

Sunday – in-laws for BBQ (No beer though, I was driving…).

Now home. Work starts tomorrow (again). Tired. Bed. Night all!

House buying is easy – you view one property on Saturday, drive around a few areas in the afternoon, have a BBQ on Sunday, view a house on Monday (today) lunchtime and strike it lucky!! Of course we might not get it, but it’s a start, and it is well within our budget. So survey is on the cards, and we’ll make them an offer by Wednesday hopefully. Reasonably confident, we are the first people to see it, and it hasn’t gone into the local paper yet.

Had top weekend all in, didn’t touch my PC at all! So to everyone who emailed me – sorry! That’s why I didn’t reply to you (hope you enjoyed the Limp Bizkit concert!)

BBQ Friday was fun. One of those nights when you look at your watch and think, “hmmm 11pm maybe just another couple of drinks”, and then 10 mins later look at your watch and all of a sudden it’s 3am. Would have been quite happy to let the night go on.

Saturday – drinks in Arte, Mao for dinner. Nasi Goreng was wonderful well recommended if you are eating out in Glasgow. Ohhh and if you are ever in the Merchant City area of Glasgow in the evening, you must visit Arte. Blows me away every time.

Today is a Bank Holiday, but here I sit in work. Louise can brave the traffic queues, I’m far too impatient for that.
