The Plateau

Day 88.

I think he sees it now. I thought as much last week but, for sure, this morning confirms it.

107.1
107.1
106.9
107.1

It’s consistent for sure.

It’s a plateau.

He forgets I can see that he’s gotten away from what he was doing. He’s eating a little less carefully, his exercise levels have dropped.

I can see why too. Disheartened after the first week without any weight loss, out of kilter for the second —he knows he exercised a lot more but also ate more cake— and this last week has been a complete drop off.

If anything I could feel the sigh of mild relief that it wasn’t an even higher number.

I can also tell he thinks he should be further down the path, after all his prediction numbers have him at 104.3 today, but he knows that likely wasn’t manageable.

I hope he knows this is just a blip. Hope he takes some comfort from the fact he hasn’t put a lot more weight on, essentially he’s stayed the same.

It’s just a plateau.

It happens.

He’s popped me back to my storage place now but I’ll keep an eye out. I think I sense a renewed energy, a return of that mojo think he says he’d lost?

Guess we’ll see what happens when he stands on me next week.
