Dense Discovery is, and I’ll quote the lovely website here:
One email worth opening, every week
Thoughtful links across design, tech, culture and art – hand-picked weekly to inspire reflection, not reaction.
And yes, you should go and subscribe right now (I’ll wait).
I’ve been a subscriber since February 2023 and the eagle eyed among you may have noticed that I’ve mentioned DD a few times, usually linking to an article that has made me think and consider various actions and activities that form part of my, and your, daily life.
It is genuinely the newsletter I look forward to receiving the most — I’m only subscribed to around 10 newsletters but the bar is high!
It’s a wonderfully, humanly, crafted newsletter and without fail it sparks thoughts and curiosity in my brain about many things.
I wrote this, and posted it in the members only forum. I’m sharing it here because it encapsulates why I rate Dense Discovery so highly.
As ever my brain pulls at threads you place throughout the newsletter and takes me from that amazing opening essay, through the recommendations for non-fiction books, to the Mastodon post about LinkedIn users making everything a “pivot/learning process”.
And somewhere in my brain there is a tiny spark around reading fiction, on not feeling pressured to learn all the time, on disappearing into the wonderful otherly world a novel creates which doesn’t have all those designed distractions.
So yes, you should go and subscribe right now.
