AI, Mac Apps, Blogrolls, Substack

AI continues to be a hot topic. Be it the OpenAI/Apple spat, or the latest (clever) anti-AI pushback, or how it won’t ever attain consciousness, or how it feels to have people think your art was generated by AI when it clearly wasn’t.

Elsewhere I find myself experimenting with some apps for my Mac. A window switcher, or a window switcher that does lots more clever stuff I may not need, as an alternative to AltTab. Training myself to use DropOver more. Pondering DockFlow (a dock switcher for focus modes), and being bemused by Vorssaint, a utility app that does everything and more, all while letting Blankie provide some ambient sounds.

I’ve also collated my vibe coded apps to a new page if you are even slightly interested.

I am also slowly building a blogroll, hoping to provide something akin to the old days — a list of blogs, and a list of their latest posts. It may mean more finagling of my site but I love a good finagle, who doesn’t!

I’m also willing to consider Substack links again. I feel like I’m cutting my nose off to spite my own face by avoiding them. I’m still not sure how I feel about supporting a platform that hosts right-wing voices, so I won’t be directly supporting (paying) anyone through Substack but will find direct ways to support writers/artists instead.
