Christmas Number 1, 2009

For those of you in the UK.

Do you remember who got the coveted Christmas number 1 slot in 2009? Do you remember how it came to be?

I ask only because I randomly saw this post from my own blog.

  1. Absolutely. Rage Against the Machine. Classic pub quiz question. It was due to the backlash of Simon Cowell monopolising the spot. Granted, given LadBaby has been Christmas number one more times than The Beatles since then I would say come back Cowell, all is forgiven

The first number one of the noughties had “I have a dream” as the first words and the last number one of the noughties had “Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me” as the last words 😊

    1. I’d totally forgotten. Although I stopped following the charts long before the likes of PopStars and X-Factor!
