Forever Tweaking

For those who subscribed to my RSS feeds you should, at some point, see a new title. It’s taken me far more tweaking and PHP hacking than I would’ve liked but it’s been irking me and now, I hope, it’s fixed.

I’ve also removed some plugins around Webfingers, Webmentions, ActivityPub and the like, largely while I process my learnings that prompted me to write this post.

Please note that I changed the title from “On the indiefediactivitymastoweb” as I didn’t want it to come across as snarky, yet the fact remains that whilst I understand what the benefits of all of those things may be, the steps and hurdles are just a little too high for me to want to divert my limited energies towards. Ultimately, it’s a UX issue (in my opinion).

Writing blog posts is a hobby that I enjoy, fixing broken things that don’t work is not. Until these things become much more user friendly I think I’ll hold back on embracing them fully.
