Busy days

Outside of work, which is always busy, there are is a myriad of little things to get done. Working at home makes this easier, for sure, but I have found that some days just end up being busier than others.

Today is a good example.

It’s pay day so I need to move some money around into the right accounts. I do this every month so all bills are paid automatically and we don’t miss any.

And as it’s the last week day of the month, I’ve checked my Reminders to find 33 tasks for today! Now. I have about 5 recurring tasks every weekday and they take minutes to do, but the rest are a mix of things we chatted about on holiday —a new bike cover, creating a photo book of the holiday, getting the front seat covers sorted— and a myriad of random tasks that, without realising, I’d set to have a deadline of today.

Thankfully they don’t all need DONE today so I took 10 minutes to spread them out over the coming week when I know I have a little free time to tackle them. That gets me down to 10 items, perfect.

Also, we had Jack’s Nursery Sports Day this morning, so I didn’t start work until about 10:30am. Becca is off to the kids lunch club she volunteers at, then she heads to a job interview later this afternoon, and this evening we are out at a wedding reception so need to make sure things are set for the babysitter.

Ohh and yeah, I have about 8 things I need to do at work too. They won’t all get done, and that’s ok.

I’m sure I’ve posted about this before too, this collision of tasks and activities that all seem to end up happening on the same day.

Anyway, I don’t have time to spend blathering on to you, I’m a busy man ya know!! Hope your Friday is a good one.
