I think I’ve fallen victim to an AI blunder, and I’m not sure I’m alone.
I use an app called Particle, it collates news from various sources, and has proved reliable over the past few months. You can dial up/down the things you want to read so as a way to manage the horror of the news it’s been a handy way to turn the torrent to stream, as it were.
However yesterday they posted a piece about UK government advice to stockpile, due to the current situation with Iran. Particle linked to the Daiy Express, Daily Record, and Wales Online. I clicked through to all three and they all said much the same thing.
I checked the UK Government website but there is no such advice.
Ummmm, so did Particle invent this news piece? Or is there another source it’s not giving me that was also, erroneously, picked up by the Daily Record, Daily Express, and Wales Online?
Tellingly, all three of those sources say the exact same thing, even citing a government statement with no link to it mentioned.
Anyhoo, apologies for the undue drama. Unpile those stocks!
