google time

Google tip: type “time” into a google search box, and it will display YOUR current time. Type “time + [city]” and you get the current time, relative to you, in that city. Smart.

It works the same with weather. Just type weather+[city] and it comes up with the info lickety-smart.

There’s a million of them. I listed a few in a post not so long ago. And that’s only like 1%.

It’s giving me the time in Southampton though, while comparably close still about 70 miles away.

OK, for world time I can see the point. But surely it’s quicker to just look at the clock in the status bar? And that’ll tell you the time for exactly where you are.

what clock? my status bar is hidden, I alt+tab between open windows, and use Launchy rather than the Start menu?

(maybe)

Hmm, fair enough, I suppose. But (to quote someone else earlier this week) surely a hidden status/tool bar makes you an edge-case, part of a minority who don’t have that functionality on display all the time?

I thought even mac status/tool bar had a clock on it by default, after all… 😛
