Is Apple Evil? ~ “Apple is evil. At least it is if you subscribe to the notion that some corporations are good and most are evil. In reality, all corporations are pretty much the same, and if they do things you like then they’re “good,” and if they do things you don’t like, well, they’re “evil.” And lately Apple’s been doing some things people don’t like.”

  1. I tend to reserve the “evil” tag for companies that put profits above their customer or worker’s health (eg. Nestle), or support totalitarian regimes (even Reebok has shunned Burma).

Microsoft are the exception as they are attempting world domination.

  2. I’ve just been reading “West Of Eden” by Frank Rose, a very interesting book about the history of Apple between ’83 and ’86 – the period when the Mac was launched, failed commercially, and led to Steve Jobs being fired from his managerial job and leaving in the middle of a lawsuit. And it shows that: Apple always *was* a normal corporation. When the founders still worked there it was more concerned with style than money; but it was still a normal corporation, more so than even Jobs realised until he was fired.
