Nothing broken, strained or bruised. Now to get through Saturday in one piece and I’m laughing (well probably not as I’ll be hungover but you get what I mean).

I’ll be asking for your help tomorrow, I’m compiling a list of questions for a ‘blogger interview’ for Scottish Blogs, so make sure you have your thinking caps on.

Is it the weather? The clammy, muggy closeness pulling sweat from my skin, draining what little energy I seem to have left?

Is it the daily grind? Do I need a holiday, a break, get AWAY from everything?

Is it all in my head? Probably. Not that that is a good thing.

Anyhoo, motivation or not there is plenty to do. New boiler gets installed on Thursday so we have until then to make sure access to all the radiators is available, which means reshuffling more of the rooms in the house to some degree. It also means that we really need to decide HOW we are going to block up the large hole that is about to appear in our living room when the old gas fire and back boiler are removed.

Then there are other things to get done that are being put on hold until I “can be bothered” (it’s an official project status you know). Scottish Blogs sits untouched, despite trying to guilt myself into doing something by posting on the site that I would soon be doing something. And this place, well all the sub-pages are still on the old template, but there is an easy way to remedy that, not to mention my continued thoughts on how to present photos.

So much to do, so little motivation. Honestly, I just CAN’T be bothered.

Bit of a busy week coming up, mainly because it’s Louise’s birthday (21.. +10…).

Thankfully I’ve got a few days off work, and I’m hoping to divide my time between several things that I’ve been needing to get done:

1. Properly weed the mono-block – our driveway is part mono-blocked but the large conifer tree (since removed) has pushed up all the mono-blocking to leave gaps in which there are loads of weeds.

2. Garden step – I’ve got the slabs, and the bricks so I guess I’d better build the damn thing.

3. Tidy the ‘office’ – paperwork everywhere, a lot of it not needed anymore, so a clearout is in order.

4. Scottish Blogs – ongoing maintenance and implement/fix a few features.

5. Redesign here – it’s coming…

So I might be a bit quiet next week as, despite having a couple of PC related tasks I don’t wanna spend too much time sitting on my backside.

The beauty of being the supplier of the backend ‘software’ that runs Scottish Blogs is that when I get two sites submitted by, presumably, some web marketing service, and the sites are obviously NOT blogs I can very quickly knock up a big red delete button and zap ’em tout de suite.

bookmark_borderCommenting

I’ve not been leaving as many comments on other sites as I used to, even though I’m still reading as many (if not more) sites.

Someone pointed out to me that I could be more constructive with my comments, and they were right. Often my comments are short, silly and pointless. I rarely engage in the ‘discussions’ in a comment box, preferring to comment once, possibly read any newer comments, and then move on.

(BTW, to the person who pointed this out to me, you were right not to let it slide, I’m not having a go at you).

However I think my approach is starting to affect my ‘writing’ here. I think less and less about what I post here, and as I’ve stated before, this is something I want to change.

Change takes time and effort though, both things I have little of at present (for the pedants in the audience, I have little energy, not little effort although they are kinda the same thing so maybe I DID mean I have little effort… fucksticks). Instead I’m doing what I do best, avoiding the issue by re-designing again, and playing about with the Scottish Blogs site.

So, I need you all to be honest, have I ever left a comment on your site that… no hang on… I don’t need YOUR validation. I can leave whatever comments I like! I mean you are all idiots and I’m wonderful, so it’s only fair.

Spot the recurring theme?

Note: I do NOT consider you ALL to be idiots (heh), and I’m as far from wonderful as you could possibly get. So to the other person who contacted me telling me that I shouldn’t really write those kind of things I have this to say – fuck off and stop reading.

Christ, I’ve started taking after Kitten and come over all militant.

Crap, I wasn’t gonna talk about that show was I… oh well. If you don’t like you can f… ohh you know…

And now I’m in a good mood. Well a tolerable mood at least. Odd that.

Anyway, spent last night doing a favour for a friend, but as usual my ‘perfectionist’ view of things kept me up until 2am. I didn’t even get the damn thing finished either.

Which means that the fixes for Scottish Blogs are still outstanding, as is the re-design of this place. Ho hum.

In real life, aside from the new car, we aren’t up to much. Mundane, run-of-the-mill life is what we have (well, what we have fashioned), so much so that Big Brother actually looks interesting. Well, sort of…

I’ve just started reading David Attenborough’s autobiography, I’ve not bought any new CDs for ages (although have borrowed a Jeff Beck from a colleague and it’s pretty good), and nothing in the news has grabbed my attention particularly, well, not over anything else – I mean it’s all stuff I could comment on, but frankly I can’t be arsed.

Note to self: Go to bed early tonight.

Addendum: ANY comments about my lack of a perfectionist view of this here site will be… ignored probably. I’m not happy with it at the moment, which is why some things are broken. Hey hang on, I don’t need to justify myself to you!
