Mike proves that the easiest way to get comments for your post is to change the design. Why do we find change so hard to take?

My downward trend has continued. Whilst only a measly 1lb lighter than last week, I’m quite happy. Especially given that last night I had a big stir fry at my brother-in-laws, and on Wednesday night we visited an “all you can eat” Chinese buffet place before we went to see Lee Evans. Add in a distinct lack of exercise due to time constraints (ok ok due to me being too lazy…) and 1lb is quite an achievement!

We popped in to see my parents last night and Mum gave me back some of my old piano books. Full of threats and notes from my piano teacher, it might be just the thing to get me to use the little Yamaha keyboard to play music on instead of a permanent home to various pieces of paperwork.

I CBATG so can anyone tell me how Michael Jackson came to own the rights to the Beatles back catalogue?

So much to talk about, so little inclination.

Live 8 – the vitriol surrounding these concerts astounds me. Is it ideal? No. Is it part of a greater scheme that actually seems to be working? Yes. Sir Bob was on Jonathon Ross at the weekend, Jonathon asked him “why have the G8 countries done nothing?”, Bob responded “I have no idea”. Ultimately, and I don’t believe it will be a miracle cure, the steps taken recently WILL make a difference. This is a GOOD thing.

Peter at Naked Blog has dropped out of Big Blogger, I’m sad to see him go, I’m also wondering where Big Blogger is heading. I’m still treating it as a silly bit of fun though because that’s all it is (this is NOT a dig at Peter!!).

Michael Jackson – not guilty, so let him get on with his life now.

Remix
OK, confession time. I used to be a ‘DJ’. Well not often, a couple of weekends in a pub, and a few parties in bowling greens, you know the type (Hey there, can you play some Tom Jones?). We also did a couple of disco’s at a local school, including a professional lighting set supplied by my mate who works in the industry (smoke machine, and 4 large computer controlled lights, only about £3k worth of stuff for a school disco.. who said overkill?)

Anyway, at home I have what is probably a reasonable snapshot of chart dance music of the time (Is anybody out there – Bassheads, Y’all ready for this – 2Unlimited, Ebeneezer Goode – Shamen, etc etc) and one, aforementioned, 12″ of a U2 track (scroll down a bit).

I’m listening to it right now. It still stands the test of time, sounds slightly dated but not too bad. It got me thinking, on a Top 10 of remixes (and I’m talking well know ones, generally chart entries) it would probably come pretty near the top, except, well, I can think of only a couple more… Brimful of Asha – Fatboy Slim… maybe Breathe & Stop – Q-Tip vs Michael Jackson and .. well that’s me tapped out.

So, what are your favourite remixes? And which ones have I missed?
