Gosh the football is good, isn’t it. Way better than a World Cup, not as long winded as an entire season and, a few games aside (I’m looking at you France), bloody top quality entertainment.

Apparently there are other things that can be watched on TV at the moment but, seriously, why would you? In saying that there is still plenty of other things currently vying for my attentions.

Friday night we are out for a quiet dinner to lightly celebrate Louise’s birthday.

Saturday morning we’ve both got appointments to see the dental hygienist (the price of paying for your dental care) and then we are off to visit Peggy. Except we aren’t REALLY visiting Peggy, we are all about the ickle fwuffy ducklings!!

Sunday is Louise’s birthday proper and no doubt some people will be popping in to tell her how old she now is and that it’s “all downhill from here”.

Zip through the next week (although there are a few changes happening at work just now, plenty of gossip and rumour, which is always fun) and on Friday I’ll be one of many thousands standing about at Glasgow Green in glorious sunshine listening to the best band in the world (well, they will be that day), and after the Radiohead gig, if I can still walk, I’ll catch up with some people from work to say goodbye to two work colleagues that are leaving.

There are a couple of things occupying my mind at the moment though, namely the fact that our Sky+ box failed to record a few things last week. And by a few games I mean the 4-1 game between Holland and France! It should be fixed now (turn it off and turn it on again) but I swear to god if I miss any more football I’ll… I’LL… well I’ll probably just phone up and order a new Sky HD box.

If you look over to your left, you should see a link to the new archive page. At the moment it only lists posts by date but I’ll be updating it in the near future to make it a bit more useful. I’m also going to be converting my old “musings/wordage” bits and bobs into posts and assigning them to a category. Hopefully I’LL then be able to find things on my own site.

I’m also switching the Photo Gallery over to Flickr, I’ve upgraded to a Pro account and it should meet my needs. I still have space on my Blueyonder account so I can use that for anything else I need. I think this will be the most organised this site will ever have been. Hey, it’s only taken me 5 years.

Aside from that there shouldn’t be too many more changes to the site for a while. At least until Spring.

Louise was supposed to be going out for dinner with some friends last night but they both cancelled on her, so we went instead. It’s a local Cantonese restaurant that does a pretty good buffet, we’ve not been there in ages and it took us a while to realise that the last time we were out for dinner together was for our anniversary in August. How time flies.

We also got a bit lucky with our table as we managed to get the seat right next to the table for a family of 10 who were, loudly, celebrating a birthday. Even better luck befell us when the last couple turned up to join the table. They’d brought their baby with them! Joy! There really is nothing like an earsplitting scream to create that certain ambience.

Still at least we got to join in the birthday celebrations, especially the opening of the presents which were, in no particular order, FUCKIN’ CRACKIN’ (pair of boots), AWESOME (a CD), THAT’S THE BEES FUCKIN’ KNEES (some gadget of some sort), and THAT’LL GET NECKED THA MORRA, I’LL BE FUCKIN’ WRECKED! HAHAHAHAHA (bottle of vodka or tequila).

Ohh and the food was OK too.

Speaking of which, is it lunchtime yet?
