Well that was quite good. Nothing brilliant but it hit the right spots. The action scenes are MUCH better than the first one, and there is even a little character development. The ‘tortured soul’ that is Spiderman is more to the fore, and aside from some rather twee and obvious speeches (just to make sure we ‘get’ it) it’s all handled well.

Here’s hoping the third one is a bit lighter, and we get some more of those corny one-liners that Spidey is famous for… ohh and whilst I remember, Alfred Molina was great, and Kirsten Dunst once again ends up in a nipple-chillingly wet dress. This is a good thing, and they’d better included it in the third movie.

bookmark_borderThis evening I will mostly be…

Watching Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I’m a big fan of Carrey in serious roles, and I’m looking forward to this. I’ve already been given a ‘tip’ (watch the colour of her hair) and it’ll be good to see Kirsten Dunst actually acting, instead of standing about in wet t-shirt as she did in Spiderman. Van Helsing is also on the list as is The Passion of the Christ (still).

Secret Window is not on my list.

Louise went to see it last night and was less than impressed. Some ladies might like to know that Johnny Depp was cute, but the storyline wasn’t up to much. In her own words it was one of those movies where “you KNEW there was a twist coming and they didn’t really hide it”.

I’m sitting in the midst of a VERY tidy office.

Some shopping this morning, and then home to be inside whilst the heavens opened. Yeuch.

Bonus: Didn’t have to cut the grass. Mind you as it now resembles more of a field of buttercups maybe that’s not such a good thing…< But we did get the office tidied. And we are off out tonight to a wedding reception. Ohh and we watched Spiderman last night. Wasn't too bad a way to spend a couple of hours. Thought Tobey Maguire was good, and I think the sequel will be better as they can let 'Spidey' emerge more as I thought it was lacking slightly in the witty one-liners department. Kirsten Dunst was good, I thought her portrayal of.. aww sod it, she's gorgeous. And if feels so much better to be able to say that now, unlike the first time I saw her and thought 'what a beautiful girl' (Interview with a Vampire).
