And now I’m in a good mood. Well a tolerable mood at least. Odd that.

Anyway, spent last night doing a favour for a friend, but as usual my ‘perfectionist’ view of things kept me up until 2am. I didn’t even get the damn thing finished either.

Which means that the fixes for Scottish Blogs are still outstanding, as is the re-design of this place. Ho hum.

In real life, aside from the new car, we aren’t up to much. Mundane, run-of-the-mill life is what we have (well, what we have fashioned), so much so that Big Brother actually looks interesting. Well, sort of…

I’ve just started reading David Attenborough’s autobiography, I’ve not bought any new CDs for ages (although have borrowed a Jeff Beck from a colleague and it’s pretty good), and nothing in the news has grabbed my attention particularly, well, not over anything else – I mean it’s all stuff I could comment on, but frankly I can’t be arsed.

Note to self: Go to bed early tonight.

Addendum: ANY comments about my lack of a perfectionist view of this here site will be… ignored probably. I’m not happy with it at the moment, which is why some things are broken. Hey hang on, I don’t need to justify myself to you!

Big Brother has started again. Yes I watched. No I don’t care what you think of me…

Mind you they are a weird and wonderful bunch this time round, I think the lesson’s from last season have been learned. I’ll try not to comment too much on it as I’ll no doubt get bored with it in a week or so then pick it up again with a few weeks left.

The big question though: who will win?

Kitten? Marco? Daniel?

As long as it’s not the tosser from Hamilton!

Yes, it’s Monday morning. Already. I’m in a surprisingly upbeat mood, which is more than can be said for the blogrolling servers (so if this site is loading s l o w l y for you, that is probably the reason why). This is despite the fact that I am behind in the Scottish Blogs development (BETA due v.soon, honest!), that it rained most of the weekend and I’m worried that the neighbours cat will actually get lost in the jungle that is fast becoming our front garden, and I didn’t win the office Grand National sweepstake (I had Bear on Board – placed 8th – and Alexander Banquet – fell at the 15th. Glad they all made it back unharmed though).

It also takes into account the piece on the centenary of the Entente Cordiale on BBC Breakfast this morning, no mention of the “Auld Alliance” dating back some 700 years:

Scotland has had a special relationship with France – ‘The Auld Alliance’ – for over 700 years. Based originally on political expedience the relationship shifted in the late Eighteenth Century when, referring to the exemplary thought emerging from the Scottish Enlightenment, Voltaire famously said: “We look to Scotland for all our ideas of civilisation”.

Bloody hell, I’ve started quoting a quote containing Voltaire. Don’t worry, low-brow content will return to your screens shortly (such as the Big Brother auditions featuring the Tourette’s sufferer).

I’ve not commented on this much as it’s been so bloody boring. That was until Lisa entered the house (fray?). Hopefully now we may see something other than everyone being so bloody polite and apologetic, and while I’m sure she will be up for eviction next week, I think the public have a duty to keep her in the house!

Ohh and Gos, come in, your time is up.

Alex owns up to an addiction, and following his lead I will do the same.

My name is Gordon McLean, and I’m a Big Brother-oholic.

Yes Big Brother 4 starts on Friday. Yes I’ll be watching the, and yes I will comment on it here (hopefully in passing mainly).

Two days down
So, The Scottish Blogs WebRing has been running for two days and already has 7 members. I’m still learning the admin side of things and today ran a quick check to see if everyone had the code properly implemented on their site (nothing Big Brother, just seeing if it would work).

So to the six member sites that have properly implemented the code, thank you very much! To one member who hasn’t – GET IT SORTED.

Now I’ll just gloss over the fact that the member that has incorrectly implemented the code is… ahem.. me.. and move right along.

I will be emailing more people over the next couple of days to invite them to join, but if you know of anyone running a blog who is either Scottish or residing in Scotland please let them know about the Webring.
If you are one such person, please don’t wait for an invitation, join now and I’ll get you added as soon as I can. (quicker during the week as I’m online most of the time then…)
