Planning

A few nice suprises yesterday, one of which wasn’t when my PalmPilot (III) started looking ill. Screen had gone all broken up… strange. Checked out Palm Support, newsgroups, everywhere I could. Ended up hard resetting and losing a lot of stuff. Which brings me round to my point. Planning. I’m terrible at this sort of thing. I’m always too optimistic, which is odd because I don’t consider it my nature. Also at a reasonably critical juncture career-wise. Need to clear out a few things (for want of a better term). Who knows, they may take care of themselves. Either way it will mean changes. Change which is good. Change away from the familiar, so I will have to start learning …

Wonder Boys

Reading time: 1 min
Wonder Boys – good film. Nothing spectacular, and gave me the same feel that American Beauty did (well not quite as much). Tobey Maguire was excellent, Michael Douglas was quietly superb, and for the small amount of time she had, Frances McDormand was her usual self, effective and supremely watchable. Robert Downey Jr. even managed to keep it together. And yes I have thought about writing a book, but hasn’t everyone? Hell I’ve had a ‘story’ for ages… hmmm might be a project for me? But then I can’t even manage to get writing for this site… let alone for a book – how the hell would I find the will and the time to do that? Eh!? Ohhh and …

Nothing

Another day, another dollar. I have heard that there is some election going on somewhere, but I doubt it’s gonna make as big an impact as people expect. I suffer terribly from jealousy. I look around and want more than I have, and for once I’m not being unreasonable in my demands, mind you I have to wait until February, and give evidence before my demands will even be listened to, and even then I don’t expect much to come of it… damn that was a long sentence, if I wasn’t so frickin lazy I would go back and edit it, but I am lazy, and.. well I’m just adding to the problem now. Sorry about that.

Triggered

Reading time: 1 min
So I’ve yet to complete the re-design, which has taken far too long… however it occured to me that the content side has fallen behind somewhat. So I’m probably going to start tackling themes – maybe the 7 sins to start (why are sins so much more fun than… ehh what’s the opposite of a sin?). I’ve also got some thoughts kicked off by a book I’ve been reading – The Trigger. More on that later.

Enough of me

Cough, cough, splutter, splutter. I hate this time of year. Well not true I really like it, if only it wasn’t for the sore throat, tickly cough… hold on I sound like a cough medicine advert. Back to work tomorrow… joy of joys. Hey, I haven’t asked for a while..how are you?

Moving forward

Coldplay – Trouble. Song for the moment, wonderful, quiet, soaring. Get it and listen. Baby-sitting tomorrow night. End of a quiet week. Managed to do some Xmas shopping, I think we bought about 4 or 5 presents, and it seems like we still have about 40 to go… tiny dent made though. A few current events are dwelling on my mind. Reliving past events, but from a different perspective though, and makes me happy to see where I am today, in a much better place, happy and content.

Nice quiet

Nice quiet weekend, and a nice quiet week (so far). Caught up with some friends, survived a less than wild night on Friday, and hoping to do some Xmas shopping tomorrow (urgh). How are you?

Netball

A girl’s game. Yet somehow I’ve been roped into playing at lunchtime today. Not quite sure what to expect…. Without getting into specifics, it’s always nice when someone else holds up there hand and says – “sorry, I made a booboo..” It’s twice as sweet when it’s the taxman, and he includes a cheque! Mind you it does introduce the problem of what to spend it on.. .bummer eh?! 😉 Ohh and no ‘affordable’ internet connection at home yet, awaiting SurfTime details – then I’ll polish off the re-design and post it.

Future now

Reading time: 1 min
I ache. As usual I did too much in the gym on Wednesday, so my shoulders and arms are stiff and sore. The pain in my legs is nothing new and I’m used to it. We play football every Thursday (should I say soccer? Hell no!) and every Friday I’m stiff – is regular exercise not supposed to improve this? Mind you the game of netball on Tuesday should prove fun… Looks like I’ll soon have SurfTime (Evenings and Weekends) setup – for those outside the UK, it is an unmetered service offered by BT and chosen ISPs. Unfortunately everytime an ISP launches an affordable 24/7 unmetered package the end up pulling it, or poorly implementing it because “some people …
