bookmark_borderWhat are you doing?

I’ll be working tomorrow, trudging to work whilst the majority of the country … don’t. I hope you all have something planned or you will be making a mockery of the fact that I’m in work and you’re not. It’s your duty to do something!

Sigh.

I’m distracting myself at the moment, NBA is on in the background, but I should really be working on Scottish Blogs. Progress has been zero as I’m increasingly struggling with PHP and I’m considering buying an off-the-shelf ‘member site’ package and customising that to help out. Mind you it’s the last thing I want to spend any money on as it’s, essentially, a hobby site. I’ve kind of lost the excitment of doing it to be honest, but I’ll keep pegging away.

One thing I DO want to spend money on is a new car. We still owe a few thousand on the current car, but I reckon that the trade-in would offset that. We’ll be getting something smaller as we don’t travel far anymore and the car’s main use is getting Louise to work, a 15 minute journey at most. Not sure what though. We’ve had Renault’s for a few years, but it may be time for a change.

So, what to buy? I fancy the new Mini but it’s a bit pricey when new, not mad keen on the Clio, the new Fiesta might be an option… not sure to be honest.

Ideally I’d like something top of the range but that’s not gonna happen – one of our reasons for changing is to try and save a little money. Guess I need to pick up a copy of Auto Express this week.

Just doing a spot of surfing before I head off to kill some brain cells watching TV when I notice Peter mention that he’d been add to the UK Showcase on Kinja (I’m somewhat amazed that I am too…)

I clicked the link and spotted two flaws.
1. You can’t easily tell all the sites that are in a Kinja digest.
2. You can’t see who the digest belongs to – well you can but there is no link to the digest owner’s site.

But of course this is a BETA and has no doubt been considered.

I’ve crawled to the PC to post the playlist. I’m not well but can’t decide if it was the champagne, Budvar, Drambuie or After Eight cocktails that are to blame.

Anyway, here’s the playlist. Thanks for your suggestions.

Adding some Abba, some Jamiroquai, and heading back into 70s disco I think. Thanks for the suggestions so far but I need more!!

“So see you at about 6.30? Ohh and can you bring the iPod and some party music.. thanks, bye!”

So I need Party Music – gimme your suggestions – dance, hip hop, disco, pop, rock, etc etc – anything and everything.

I’ll post the playlist once it’s done (tomorrow probably), at the moment it varies from Aretha Franklin to Deelite to Faithless to Dirty Vegas to Jacksons to Scissor Sisters to Sugababes to Crystal Waters … current chart stuff I can manage, but what about all those great tracks from past discos – inspire me!!

I should point out that I am working today, and will be working on Monday as well. We don’t get public holidays but do get a few extra days allowance to compensate. I don’t mind this arrangement, to be honest, as it means I don’t have to sit in Bank Holiday traffic. It does mean that I get calls from my wife, how does get public holidays, telling me that she’s been slounging on the sofa watching movies all morning and will probably do the same this afternoon. PPfffffttttt.

Of course I’m not sure why we even have these holidays anymore, after all it’s a religious thing, right? Easter I mean.

Now there’s a question: what would the world be like if religion didn’t exist? Ha! Answer that.

I’ll ponder that this afternoon whilst I nurse the remnants of my hangover.
