Finished!

Murrayfield Stadium, originally uploaded by Gordon.

In total I’ve raised over £850, so thank you to everyone who donated.

I quite enjoyed myself, thankfully the weather held and I almost managed it in my target of 4 hours (4hrs 7mins in total).

Add in cycling to and from Glasgow Green and I covered 69 miles on Sunday, no wonder my legs are a bit sore!

Will I do it next year… yeah.. maybe.

  1. Well done. That’s a good time, too.

My son-in-law normally commutes 45 miles a day by bike. Recent paternity leave, he did a couple of long rides (100 miles or so in a day), but at the end he found he’d gained 10 lbs in weight! If I cycle 20 miles in a day, it takes me best part of a week to get over it.

  2. Gordon, I finished it in 5 hours 45 minutes but I definitely wouldn’t do it again; far too much of it is on open road with idiot drivers (and maniac bus drivers in Coatbridge) and idiot cyclists doing 35mph on wet downhill roads (and undertaking as well).

Glad I did it, raised about £2300 for Yorkhill Hospital, but never again!

And my legs are in turmoil now, far too stiff!!

  3. I agree Kevin, idiot drivers are common place unfortunately but a lot of the cyclists didn’t do the ‘cycle’ cause any good either.

Congrats on raising the money though, that’s a fab total!
