There is something odd about seeing an advert for a TV station appear in a cinema.

Reminds me of the opening lines to that kid’s show “Why don’t you”. Remember? “Why Don’t You Just Switch Off Your Television Set And Go Out And Do Something Less Boring Instead” which, even at that tender age made me think ‘so what they are saying is don’t watch this programme and go and do something else, isn’t that a bit odd’ (deep stuff for 8 year old).

The scary part of this is that I’ve just spent the best part of an hour browsing through TV Cream. That site really should carry some sort of warning, but was handy to find some information about Worzel Gummidge (go on, spot the link from one of today’s postings!)

Equilibrium

Pretty standard sci-fi storyline (big brother state, underground rebellion) but original enough that it wasn’t a parody or pastiche of the genre. However some nicely choreographed fight scenes do not a great film make. The storyline is a bit thin, and for an action movie there is a slow middle section. Not a bad film and certainly not the worst 90 minutes I’ve spent in the cinema.

For the record I have been told to inform you that Louise loved it (probably something to do with the cute puppy?).
Christian Bale plays the lead well, but is never really called upon to do much more than deliver some cliched lines and look moody. Probably one to catch on TV (late night no doubt).

Lull
Loads in my head but no energy available. Project naming conventions (or lack of them), learning about photography and compiling a list of top photologs (suggestions welcomed/needed!), thinking about getting to the gym, getting 8 Mile on DVD, REALLY needing to do some tidying up tonight, Equilibrium at the cinema first, Mother’s Day, night out on Friday (although I’m double booked), Cadbury’s Finger of Fudge in the vending machine, loads of work that I should be doing, money worries (despite just ordering a digital camera), trip to London (hence the money worries), friend in hospital in two weeks, how long before the pears I bought ripen?, work at home on Friday?

I’m a bad amateur photographer at best, but I’m about to purchase a Canon Powershot S30 so beware! I will soon be dazzling you with my photography skills… or not…
