No-one told me!I love Dr.Pepper. I remember the first time I tried it, picking from a shelf littered with cans of Tab Clear, Coke, Pepsi, Cherry Coke, etc, wondering what it would be like.. peppery? savoury?Well it seems that the nice people* at Dr.Pepper are going to try and use blogs to market some new drinks: Flogging on a Blog. Will it work? Not sure, as most blogs are brutally honest, and opinionated, so I can’t see it being hugely successful, other than generating a lot of word of mouth. Anyway, I’m off to buy lunch and a can of… well you can guess can’t you… * No idea if they are nice or not, but I’m willing to give them …

Guilty secretsJust ordered the soundtrack to Chicago. Shhhh don’t tell anyone (I blame my mother, watching all those MGM musicals when I was growing up has obviously deeply affected me). Ohh didn’t I mention we went to see it at the weekend? No? Well, briefly, it was FANTASTICALLY BRILLIANTLY GOOD. Or some other superlative.

Quick roundupAttracted by the picture of Marilyn Monroe I found that lip size is the key to sexual attraction, which is nice to know.Whilst on the BBC site, I caught up on the rule changes for Formula One for this season.I also found a link to an item we bought at the weekend which suggests that, despite arranging an induction at a local gym (for Saturday morning), we are getting lazier. And another item we purchased for £35 in a one day offer at PC World – thanks for spotting that one Dad (ohh and for going to pick it up too). Elsewhere, Alex has spotted more Galactic Toss Monkeys, Stuart is considering a hiatus (but Vaughan beat him to it), …

Dang, I missed itMeant to post something at 3:03pm. Darn. And yes I realise to be properly accurate I should’ve posted at 3:03am but no chance of that happening. 3rd of the 3rd of the 3rd of the 3rd of the 3rd. Ohh and is ANYONE else watching 24? I think I may have to find a fan forum, I’m completely hooked!

Dear ScotrailInstead of delaying me by 20 minutes when leaving the station, and to save the cost of having 6 staff checking tickets at the exit of low-level Central Station in Glasgow, why not put an extra conductor on the trains at peak times. Great way to start a Monday morning. Grrrrr.

Chicago

Chicago Was mildly sceptical of this, having seen Moulin Rouge and not being that impressed (it was good but not that good). Quite simply this film hits the mark. So much so I’ve ordered the soundtrack. It is a real hark back to the days of the MGM Musicals, and about time to. Simple enough storyline (girl meets boy, girl cheats on boy with lover, girl shoots lover, girl goes to jail for murder) but some excellently choreographed numbers and top drawer performances by almost every member of the cast lift this movie. Renee Zellwegger was sultry and pouty as Roxie Hart, Catherine Zeta Jones was the epitomy of ‘sassy’, Richard Gere played the self-serving lawyer card perfectly (as he …

The Main ArteryFirstly, my apologies for the tardiness of my appreciation. Thanks to everyone who wished me well last week. Sorry I took so long to remember to thank you! In other, brief news, my DVD player, sent back to ebuyer.com when it developed a display fault has been found faulty by their service department and a refund was issued yesterday. So today I purchased my new DVD player (which is actually a Home Theater System as well) a Lenoxx HT500. Not fully setup, but a quick test, saw multi-region DVDs, MP3 discs, and JPGs all displayed well. Just need to get a SCART switch box and I’ll be a happy man. Not bad for a £150 from Safeway (and …
