Despite several claims to the contrary, Scots do not survive on a diet of haggis, whisky and deep fried Mars bars.

Tonight I will be cooking up a low-fat Chicken Passanda and rice. Tomorrow I may rustle up some pan-fried salmon and noodles. I may venture out to have sushi for my lunch. I fully admit to trying a deep fried Mars bar, and can happily tell you that they are the single most revolting thing I have ever put in my mouth – that includes the time I tried to eat a worm when I was six years old.

Tech Support for Pelvic Exams – one for all you ladeez out there (and especially my darling wife who I’m sure is not alone in hating pelvic examinations).

Stranger still is that I found this through the eLearning post – a daily news blog for all things training/eLearning related. Go figure.

thelefrakwebsite. The wonder of the Internet. I have a friend who lived in New York. She used to work for Time magazine, and we shared an enjoyment of the Saw Doctors music. In the 4 or more years I’ve known her she’s been married, been made redundant, found a new job, visited Europe, and is now moving house. I’ve never met her. We’ve exchanged gifts, laughs, sobs, and everything else that goes with friendship. Yet we’ve never shaken hands. The horrors of 11/9 were all the more real from me because maybe she was in the area when it happened. The wonder of the Internet.

Back still v.f*ckin’ sore (sorry but my pain threshold is directly related to my ability to eloquently state the pain level I’m suffering). Think I’ll have to phone the docs and get some bigger painkillers. Nuts.

Friday Five (Belated – obviously)

1. What’s your favorite animal?
Tiger probably.

2. What pets have you had in your lifetime?
Numerous goldfish all destined to be flushed away, a hamster called Muffin, and I grew up with my golden retriever Sintra. My dog, a boy’s best friend.

3. Is there any specific pet that you’ve wanted but never had?
A macaw, or any big parrott. Comical, intelligent, I just think they are fab.

4. Are you allergic to any animals?
None that I know of – yet.

5. Do you have any ‘pet’ pet peeves (your pets or others’)?
Ohhh yes, those people that think they can walk their dog next to a busy road without a lead. My dog was as well trained as any, but they are all animals and are all unpredictable, you just shouldn’t risk it.

Sponges. Eeek. Hate them. You know the ones, those nylon-ey ones that are slightly rough. Oooh, the texture makes me shiver, the palms of my hands go all tingly and tight, I get goosebumps and need to squeeze my hands into tight fists to try and get rid of the sensation. Eek.

And I just picked one up.
