Xmas

I was just checking back some notes about my recent redesign, it took me over 4 months to do, not in straight work hours, just took that long to get up enough drive to do the damn thing… Then I find out that I can write tag lines for websites without even realising it. Am I trying too hard? One thing I’ve been meaning to do is throw up what I use for my ‘start’ page, so there it is over there on the right… is kinda work orientated, and needs updated (DeskMod is dead now) but it is my starting point for hours of surfing and reading. Seriously I could easily spend an entire day online surfing and probably …

Captions

ikea – meant to say, Louise was reading through (actually reading…) the catalogue the other night and noticed that it is filled with little tidbits… for example, one page has a room with a man over at a CD player, and a baby facing the camera sitting in a chair. The captions detail the price and style of the chair, the CD unit, etc etc, the last caption states: The baby is the models own and is priceless… awwwww.. cute eh! The damn thing is littered with them, which is good as it currently resides in the toilet as reading material (always handy when you are *busy*). N2S: am I the only person who does this? Maybe it’s a bit …

Imperiatric

Tuppence – this seems to be the theme of my week so far – started on Sunday whilst we were trying to figure out how much carpet we would need for our new living room: “Right, if it’s 25 feet by 11 feet, and the carpet costs £6.99 a sq.metre, and it only comes in 10 feet widths, then… em … aargh!!” This was followed by RuhBehKa’s post and one of those DIY shows on TV where the builders discussed: “Well if it’s 6 inches deep and you’re covering 20 sq.metres, then you’ll need 3 tonnes of cement..”. I’m 6’0 tall (around 1.86m I think) don’t have a clue what I weigh in kilos, and get thoroughly depressed at what …

Quasimmuter

Started commuting into Glasgow a couple of days a week. I’m in that funny limbo land at the moment where I’m not a ‘commuter’ as I don’t do it often enough, so I am viewing each short trip as, well, a curiosity. I used to love getting the train to college, but it was a longer trip, so you could settle down, and get a feel of travel. The commute in to Glasgow isn’t long enough for that, so I’m not quite sure what frame of mind I should be in for it. I’m not making a big deal out of this, just not sure what I am making of it at the moment. Yes it’s smelly, and dirty, but …

B'Ball

Man it sucks living in the UK. The Lakers win the championship and I don’t get to see one game of the Finals… hell I don’t even know if I will be able to catch any highlights… American Football, Baseball, Champ Car all get regular coverage, we have basketball courts in our parks, and every kid I know under the age of 16 knows who Shaq and Kobe are… This is a global game, and we get SQUAT on TV – and don’t give me that “ohhh it’s on ITV2” crap, they don’t advertise it, and the times keep changing… why the hell do I pay for this again? Damn this is pissing me off!

AVANdoned

Driving along today, minding our own business and we come across a white van, abandoned in the middle of one lane of the road. No-one in sight, no other cars about, very Marie Celeste. Then the dilema of… do we phone the police? Do we presume someone else has? But what if everyone else is working on the same presumption and it turns out that NO-ONE else has… but that wouldn’t happen would it, I mean, someone would phone them… wouldn’t they? Better phone though just in case… “If I take one more phone call about that white van….” Oh well, doesn’t hurt to make sure. Decidedly odd though, don’t you think?
